Why Attend – 2023
The annual meeting provides more than 4,500 presentations, posters, workshops, and field trips by leading scholars, experts, and researchers. Attendees including geographers, GIS specialists, environmental scientists, and other disciplinary experts will share and discuss the latest in research and applications in geography, sustainability, and GIScience.
Each year, special events, timely plenaries, and interesting sessions are held during the annual meeting.
Participants also get to earn continuing education credit for their professional licenses or accreditation by participating in workshops, presenting their research, and attending sessions.
The Exhibit Hall also features dozens of organizations from academia, government, and the private sector that are looking to hire talented geographers.
The Jobs & Careers Center will feature dozens of sessions on careers and professional development for geographers. It is a central hub for students, job seekers, and other meeting attendees to learn from professional geographers, network with one another, and develop strategies for finding employment in geography-related occupations.
Why Exhibit – 2023
The annual meeting provides a dynamic forum for industry leaders to showcase the most recent trends in geographic ideas and technologies. Exhibitors will have opportunities to conduct focus groups and market research, host training sessions or workshops - to teach attendees how to better use their products or software, and lead groups on a field trip in the area to demonstrate their tools.
